The International Olympic Committee (IOC) is an unelected, private organization headquartered in Lausanne, Switzerland, where it takes advantage of lower tax rates and lax oversight. Among the IOC's demands is a requirement that host governments reserve lanes on public highways for the exclusive use of the IOC. Boston 2024 is proposing that federal taxpayers pay for private chauffeurs and the operation of these lanes: so not only will Massachusetts residents be sitting in traffic, they will be paying for the IOC members to avoid it!
